Comfortable accommodation. Let down a little by the food. Portion sizes too large and lacked finesse.

Room was comfortable, food was good. On arrival there was no sign for reception and we had to look for the way in. There was a sign offering two numbers to call. After receiving the room key and meal times we had to find the restaurant ourselves later on. (we forgot to ask for directions). At departure again there was no one at reception so we left the key and set off.

Welcoming staff, nice food and great place to explore

Room was ok but only one chair. Rubbish in sacks on stair up to our room. Dinner extremely disappointing but breakfast was excellent. Lack of visible management, a concern for young staff trying so hard. Also it is a considerable distance from Oban not near!!

The lodge was clean and the young waitress who attended us was lovely. there was no one manning reception so you had to look for the manager or a member of staff in the dining area. there was not much on the menu for vegetarians macaroni or pizza was offered. So if you are fed up with those 2 options there is little choice for you.
Our room has a seating area outside which was nice and was good to walk the dog in the field area.

Totally polar recent reviews here and mine is going to be a bit mixed.
Reviews are generally subjective with a bit of objective thrown in.
We were on a Myhotelbreak 2 night "deal".
We had deferred our original booking dates for a week, and the hotel were very helpful and accommodating about that.
The reception check-in is a "strange" experience and we were knocked back at 2.35 for a 3 p.m. official check-in.
Assigned a pretty good ground floor room, lovely little area beyond the patio doors to access the garden..
Tasty "Border" biscuits on the hospitality tray.
However, the very distressed looking faux? leather chair was clearly dusty. That said, the rest of the room and en-suite was clean.
The hotel is in a lovely spot. The outside relaxation area the potential to be fabulous with a little bit more TLC and gardening maintenance, i.e. the removal of patio weeds.
We dined in both nights. The food was not spectacular but it was fine. May sound naff but the chips were really good! The staff were attentive and meals were well presented.
Dine in a lounge/bar area or a larger dining room overlooking the garden area.
Bar prices for G&Ts were pretty good.
Breakfast:- we only went for continental.
Unlike some places both the orange juice and coffee were good.
The toaster also did toast the bread!
In our experience, the staff were all pleasant and helpful. They were fairly few and kept busy.
The room we had was refurbished but bedside lamps would be a personal preference. A fine en-suite.
A bit of noise from the room above:- just one's luck that!
Overall, for what we paid it's commendable. We'd return. It's a lovely part of Scotland and we went specifically to climb nearby Ben Cruachan.
