Amazing 6 course tasting menu. The pre starter/ canapés were just fantastic each one better than the previous. Sea bass and lamb were2 of my favourite courses. 100% recomend and we will be back. Brilliant friendly team and Paul the chef also came front of house for a chat. Wishing him well in his new venture.

The "six-course" fixed menu confusingly lists more than ten items, some grouped, but the only combination which appears to reach six is to include the (Optional- £12 surcharge) cheese.
I don't recollect a drinks menu; just regular and premium pairings - to 14 items?
A rhythmic bass-line flows unremittingly from just-recognisable 1970s middle-of-the-Rock tracks, but fails to counter the animated conversations at a nearby table discussing items somewhere further down the food list, as a result of the booking's staggered arrival system.
The service featured, on the one hand, endless apologies, and on the other a repetitive need for reassurance after every serving.
The list of "locally sourced" ingredients is extensive, perhaps comprehensive.
I found myself eagerly imagining the venison/turnip/cabbage with rowan coulis.
Unfortunately it seemed to be the only combination not present.
Deconstructing the menu, which looked as if it had been dropped and rearranged at random, was not easy.
Individual items, usually dishes served cold from earlier preparation and presented preciously displayed on over-large plates, were often quite good, but the pork loin was sadly tasteless and the ubiquitous sea bass was overwhelmed.
What a joy it would have been to arrange these like a proper menu and have a five-course meal!

Everything about the evening was perfect. The staff were spot on & extremely knowledgeable about the food & wines on offer. All the courses we enjoyed were exactly as they should be. A definite repeat visit called for.

We enjoyed our meal very much, and were delighted that our food issues were taken seriously. Very pleasant service. Rather strange to be eating right opposite the Leith Provident Store where I spent so much of my childhood - things change fast! Really enjoyed the music too !

Absolutely exquisite food beautifully prepared and full of flavour. One of the best meals I've had in Edinburgh.

You get a range of 11 things to taste including amuse bouches and petit fours. All are very good which makes the best outstanding. Portions are small but attractive and cumulatively are sufficient (we did not need the optional cheese course). The maitre d' is very knowledgeable about the food and wine and very helpful. Service was slow enough to allow for conversation but fast enough that you didn't feel that you were waiting. We had a lovely evening which flew past.

We didn’t really know what to expect but we loved it. A nicely balanced tasting menu with delicious amuse bouche and petit fours included.
We had the cheese course with port as well which was nice.
The thing we liked the most was that we didn’t feel rushed. We were there for just over 2 hours and enjoyed every minute.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
We would definitely return.
