The hotel was in a lovely location but we were greeted with an extra 80 pound bill which was fine as we had asked for a loch view, and brought a pet and was booked over a weekend it wasnt brought to my attention when booking but it is in the small print. The room wasn't much of an "upgrade" best thing I can say about it was the shower was good.l and the view was lovely. The bar was open late and the decor was dated even in the 80s the staff were lovely though can't fault that. The food also was good and the breakfast was generous. It could be a really lovely stay but it needs some work. There isn't much to do in arrochar unless you are there to hike or using it as a Base for sight seeing. But for a relaxing wind down weekend the late opening bar was a bit of an issue.

It wasn't what we expected It had been booked as a twin and not a double. They did change it and put us in a room that looked onto the kitchen wall and the extraction from the kitchen. Smell of food wasn't pleasant. The toilet was dirty broken seat and actual toilet not screwed to the floor. The room floor was very uneven and needs looked at. Exposed cable on the ceiling light. Expelair not working.

Linda at reception was really helpful and made us very welcome. The Hotel on the most part was great, just some renovations taking place but you must expect this at this time of year. We had a lovely few days, the sun was out and it made our stay so much better. Looking forword to going back soon.
We highly recommend this Hotel

Leak from ceiling at entrance, warning sign in place.
Entertainment on Saturday night could be heard in room.
Large room with loch view, tired old decor
Fire alarm twice on first night then again next morning and next night, reception advised that it was faulty ?? does this mean faulty that it wont sound if there was an actual fire, bit concerning.
Breakfast did not have much vegetarian selection, eg no mushrooms, also no porridge

It was a lovely hotel. The entertainment on Saturday night was a bonus. Warm welcome and clean. Suited us perfectly.

The cleanliness of the rooms needs to be looked. Spider webs everywhere and a bit like Fawlty Towers with the wiring. The electric shower wasn’t even sealed and was difficult to work.

This was an excellent wee break. Staff excellent and friendly. Food was good and room very comfortable with a lovely view.
The only downside was having to run the gauntlet of the smokers at the main entrance. Most unpleasant as was the mess they left behind. Perhaps a designated smoking area well away from the door with a cover and bins would be necessary.
