The staff were lovely but unfortunately my room was not very clean and the food, which in previous times I've enjoyed, was really bad.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at The Village Inn for 2 nights staff were all very attentive nothing was to much trouble for them,Room was excellent clean and very comfortable prices for drinks and food was very reasonable,we had our dog Milo with us and the pet friendly room was ideal with its own entrance would definitely recommend the Village Inn cant wait to return for another stay.

Two nights B&B with 1 meal offer + Prosecco.
Hotel is charming and comfortable.
Beautiful setting. Reasonable welcome.
Sparkly restaurant. Pretty in the evening.
Restaurant service was let down by one member of staff. LONG wait for evening meal over 25 mins between finishing starter (I eventually knocked on the kitchen door) and main.
If you go here, sit in clear eye line of waiter!
Meal was disappointing for me - Hunter's Chicken, sauce was consistency wallpaper paste.
By that time I was fed up.
Vegetarian option enjoyed by husband.
Also a mix-up at breakfast by same member of staff.
Little or no choice of cereal at breakfast.
All day (&Vege) were more than adequate but no side of toast or jams.
Good coffee in clean, comfortable room with large bath. Big enough to share!
TV difficult to use, poor connection, few channels.
Didn't use the bar but it looked cosy.
Entertainment on one evening.
Dogs welcome.

Set menu had poor choice and made worse by many of the dishes not being available. Difficult for some of the party to chose due to dietary restrictions and not allowed to pick something else due to Itison strict rules. Staff were as obliging as they could be under the circumstances. Comfortable room with lovely view, but lack of storage. Could do with some drawers. Beautiful setting and decor in keeping with the style of an Inn. Let down by Itison rules and the pub chain who owns the Village Inn. Such a shame as is a lovely place.
