The food was really good and the staff without exception were very friendly and helpful. There were some poor points all involving the room but I wouldn't want that to take away from our stay which was nice. Our room was on the ground floor and there were stairs every way to get to it. There was plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room was tired and dull with wardrobe doors missing and remaining doors hanging loose. The toilet was flooding the floor.

Areas of hotel need updating. Only one person checking you in at breakfast, just told to help ourselves & no further communication to check if we needed anything. Roadworks leading to hotel, road was closed off at night, no bus access. This meant we had to walk. It would have been helpful if we were made aware of this.

It was easy to find the hotel by bus. The room was lovely as were our views. Staff were great and made to feel very welcome. Food was delicious too and we will definitely be going back there again.

This was our 2nd visit here. It was a great deal but felt £40 supplement for a Saturday night was a bit excessive. The hotel and rooms are looking a bit tired and do need a makeover but everything was clean & great facilities. Free parking & lots of spaces is a plus & a bus stop right outside. Food was great too. We will definitely be returning.

Braid hills hotel has recently been taken over. The hotel is lovely but tired in places. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Staff were lovely & very helpful.
We dined there on the first night. The food was mainly deep fried it felt like a very expensive Wetherspoons offering. All done from frozen. Drinks were also expensive. I would recommend a stay at the hotel but definitely go down into Morningside to eat.

Excellent staff
Food ok
Our room was very very small
We asked if we could pay for an upgrade but receptionist said No as we were on itison deal
I’m saying all that we did enjoy our stay
It was good to hear the hotel has been taken over and is hopefully going to get a total refurbishment

Despite paying a forty pound supplement for a Saturday night it was not the experience I expected, the room was the smallest room I have ever paid to stay in, the view was of a brick wall. There was an unpleasant stain on the vanity chair, there was a hole in the wall and the lampshade on the bedside table was hanging off and had been for some time.
