Lovely castle with friendly and helpful staff. We had dinner on the first night and the food was good and the service was great. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent and probably one of the best we’ve had in any hotel. We were in a lodge a few minutes from the main hotel and the room was furnished to a high standard and was comfortable and very clean.
The only thing that prevented a 5-star experience was a few of the spa facilities were out of order due to maintenance.

It was all what we expected and more.

Sauna and steam room not working. Room had buzzing noise from bathroom fan which kept us awake. No headboard just curtains on wall behind bed. No toilet roll holder.. Food was okay but Orangery restaurant was cold and AC too noisy, no atmosphere. Library was cold, unpleasant to sit in after dinner. A lot of the sofas and chars need to be repaired or replaced. Staff at reception not really bothered especially since we had told them we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary as we were married at Dalhousie Castle. Certainly not the same experience we had 25 years ago!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay again at Dalhousie Castle. We were married there 32 years ago and had our 30th Wedding Celebration Lunch there too, as well as other stays, lunch, dinners & the Birds of Prey experience over the years.
The experience was great, but a couple of disappointing aspects this time. My sister in law had arranged for a celebration bottle of Prosecco to be in the room when we checked in which it was, but there was no card with it unfortunately, which had been requested. We used the Spa facility the morning after our stay but unfortunately the Sauna, Steam Room & Part of the Hydra Pool weren’t working, which would of been helpful to know when we checked in at the Spa Reception. We still enjoyed it, but it spoilt the potential whole experience.

Th castle is lovely, room spacious and comfortable. Our meal in the Dungeon Restaurant was an added bonus as we expected to dine in the Orangery. Spa facilities rather limited with one room unable to be used.

Not for those with difficulties climbing stairs. Bathroom very small no warning notice regarding very hot towel rail. Getting in and out of bath to use shower difficult no handles to hang on to. The Table d'hote menu not very exciting, served in Dungeon restaurant and needed a torch to see menu. I would have liked a whisky with low calorie lemonade as I am a diabetic. This was not available. We were their for a Birthday celebration and to fly birds of prey. The birds were excellent as was the Falconer. This was my third to this hotel. Would have to re-assess before returning and make sure any friends were aware before booking.
