First Class. From the moment we walked in the staff were very polite and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Everything was great

There was a cocktail as part of our deal. It would have been nice to be able to one and not be just given one with no choice

We loved the atmosphere and staff were very helpful. We chose mackerel pate and mussels for our starters and both were exceptional. My husband chose the fish and chips as his main which he said was good, with the chips being very good. I unfortunately chose the chicken pie which really was not good at all. The chicken was barely recognisable and even though I know leek tends to disappear in food, there was absolutely no sign of it at all. The sauce was tasteless and too thin for my liking. The pastry top was ok although in fairness I only tasted a small piece. I was just glad I’d eaten the mussels and bread so I happily left half of the main meal. That said, we would definitely return and just avoid the chicken pie!

This was my third visit, so had been looking forward to celebrating my husband's birthday. There was a good atmosphere and staff were efficient. The mackerel pate starter I had, was overly blended and more like baby food, though presented really nicely. The chips were perfect and cocktails delicious. The chicken thigh burger was lovely and crispy on the outside, but very chewy, but this may be my taste. We weren't asked why I hadn't really ate my main, The steak pie was tasty. I was disappointed this time that the menu had no beefburger. Service was ok, but perhaps as it was a special VIP menu and not weekend we didn't enjoy as much as before.
